CHOUDRANT, La. — Nathan Woodham fired a 4-under 68 in Monday's second round to move into first place individually at the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club.

Lamar posted a 7-under 281 in the round and climbed three spots into fourth place with a 36-hole total of 572.

Woodham carded five birdies and three pars on the front nine to make the turn at 4 under.

He closed the round at even par on the back nine with seven pars and one birdie to take a one-shot lead over Louisiana Tech's Oskari Schuvalow.

Three other Cardinals finished the round under par.

Freddie Surgey, Matthew Bramford and Rory Bennet each shot 1-under 71.

Surgey recorded four birdies on the front nine before playing the back nine at even par with seven pars and one birdie.

Bramford finished with four birdies and 11 pars while Bennet played a bogey-free front nine with two birdies and seven pars.

Bennet added one birdie and six pars on the back nine.

As a team, Lamar recorded 21 birdies during the second round, including 16 on the front nine.

Filip Widepalm and Luc Gavagnin both made the turn at even par with one birdie apiece. The pair combined for 14 pars on the front nine.

The Cardinals enter the final round three strokes behind third-place Troy.

North Texas surged six spots into first place after posting a tournament-best 14-under 274 in the second round and holds a three-shot lead over Louisiana Tech.
