BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University will look to bounce back Sunday, hosting Nicholls at the LU Soccer Complex in the final match of September. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.

Over their last 21 home matches at the LU Soccer Complex (excluding last season's Southland Conference Tournament), the Cardinals have suffered only one loss, a 2-0 defeat to Rice. During that stretch, LU has outscored its opponents 54-11, including a 19-3 advantage this season.
WE'RE STILL PROUD OF OUR DEFENSE
Big Red remains the Southland Conference's top defensive team, as it is the only program in the league to have allowed fewer than 10 goals at the midpoint of the season (six). The Cardinals are also tied for 23rd nationally with a 0.500 goals-against average, alongside programs such as Iowa, Purdue and Virginia.

Lamar owns a 15-2-2 record against the Colonels, including a current 11-game unbeaten streak (9-0-2). In this current run, the Cardinals have outscored Nicholls, 28-2. Last season's match ended in a scoreless draw despite LU outshooting the Colonels, 18-4.

Sunday's matchup features two of the Southland Conference's top offensive teams, as the Colonels rank second in the league with 3.11 goals per game, while LU ranks third at 2.44.
