BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University built a 2-0 lead going into halftime against Southern Sunday afternoon, but inclement weather kept the Cardinals from playing the second half, and the result was declared a no contest.
In the first half, the Cardinals scored twice in the fifth minute, with goals from
Christina Guzman and
Sydney Williams. LU took 16 shots throughout the half and held the Jaguars without a shot until the 42
nd minute.
The Cardinals will shift their focus to open Southland Conference play with UT Rio Grande Valley coming into town Thursday evening. The match will kick off at 6 p.m and will be streamed on ESPN+.
