Ekemini Udofa each scored twice Thursday evening as Lamar University (3-1-3) recorded a school-tying mark 13 goals in a 13-0 shutout of Texas A&M-San Antonio. The victory marked Lamar's second-straight shutout victory, fourth shutout of the season, and the 36th of the
Nathan Kogut era.
Big Red's 13 goals matched the school record set against Alcorn State in 2015, while the Cardinals' nine first-half goals established a new program record.
Big Red finished the match with 31 shots and 12 corner kicks. The Jaguars were unable to record a single shot throughout the 90-minute contest.
Gross opened the scoring in the fifth minute, redirecting a corner kick from
Kamdyn Jalayer, who then scored directly off a corner kick in the 16th minute. Sealy extended the lead to 3-0 in the 21st minute before lightning forced a weather delay. When play resumed, the Cardinals erupted for six goals from

Udofa scored her first goal of the match just 14 minutes into the second half to stretch LU's lead to 10. After 16 minutes without a goal, the Cardinals added a pair of goals from

th). Udofa later drew a foul in the penalty area and converted the ensuing penalty kick for the Cardinals' record-tying 13th goal.
Big Red looks to carry its momentum into Sunday as it will host Southern University for the final tune-up before Southland Conference play starts. The contest will kick off at 1 p.m. and be streamed on ESPN+.
