BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University senior Kamryn Harvey netted a pair of goals as the Cardinals blanked Blinn College, 5-0, in an exhibition contest Wednesday evening at the LU Soccer Complex. The exhibition consisted of three 30-minute periods.
 
LU controlled possession throughout the contest, totaling 21 shots, including 14 on goal with four corners. Defensively, Big Red held the Buccaneers to two shots. Along with Harvey (five shots), Emma Oubrik (three assists), Diem Sealy and Kaitlyn Niemeyer each found the back of the net. All three goalkeepers - Eloise Bywater, Keely Thomas and Maddie Rich - combined to record the shutout, with Thomas recording the stop on Blinn's lone shot on goal.
 
In the first period, Harvey (6^th minute) scored on LU's first shot of the game off a header with Oubrik and Kam Jalayer assisting. Oubrik then scored on a penalty kick in the 19th minute before she and Lillian Beckham combined to feed Sealy the ball for LU's third goal of the period.
 
The second period saw Niemeyer scoring from outside the box in the 44^th minute while Harvey (68^th minute) recorded her second goal. The Buccaneers came close to scoring in the 40^th minute.
 
The Cardinals will host UL Monroe Sunday for their second and final exhibition. Kickoff is set to start at 6 p.m.
