Coach Rossomando Radio Show

Coach Rossomando Radio Show Returns from New Location

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University head football coach Pete Rossomando will kick off his fourth season with the Red and White this year, and along with that his weekly radio show. The first show of the 2026 season will be Wednesday, Aug. 26th on Newstalk 560 KLVI from the Spindletop Gladys-City Boomtown Pavilion. Students and fans are invited to join Coach Rossomando, and the Beaumont Examiner's Harold Mann, as they take a deep dive into the 2026 LU football team. The show will run from 7 – 8 p.m. each week.

A full bar and food will be available for purchase, with the lone interruption to the schedule being Sept. 19th when there will be no show due to Lamar's open week.

Coach Rossomando will provide fans with an in-depth look at the team through the eyes of the head coach as he recaps the previous game and looks ahead to the Cardinals next opponent. The show will also include special guest interviews as we move through the season.

The Cardinals will enter the 2026 campaign ranked 20th nationally – marking the first time in program history that LU has been ranked in the STATS Perform FCS Preseason Top 25 Poll.

Rossomando's first three seasons on campus have been nothing short of historic. After taking over a program that had won just five games in the three previous seasons, he has led the Cardinals to three-straight winning seasons (a first since 1965-67) and a spot in the 2025 NCAA FCS Playoffs – just the program's second playoff berth. Rossomando has already won more games at LU in three seasons than any prior head coach after four except for only Cardinal Hall of Honor inductee Vernon Glass.

The Cardinals season opener is set for Saturday, Aug. 29th against No. 15 Abilene Christian. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. from Provost Umphrey Stadium and be streamed live on ESPN+.
