BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University opens a three-game road trip Thursday in Ruston, La. against Louisiana Tech. The contest against the Bulldogs is set for a 7 p.m. start from Robert Mack Caruthers Field and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Ryleigh Stifflemire (LU) and Brielle Buchanan (LaTech). The two were teammates for the 2023 state championship team when Stifflemire was a freshman and Buchanan was a senior.
GIVING LOUISIANA TEAMS THE BOOT
Since the start of the 2017 season, the Cardinals are 11-3-2 in non-conference games against Louisiana schools. LU had multiple victories in the 2017 (three), 2018 (two), 2021 (two) and 2023 (two) seasons.
ALL-TIME vs. LOUISIANA TECH
LU is winless in four previous matchups against the Bulldogs. The last meeting between the two sides came in 2016, when Tech pulled out a 2-1 victory in Beaumont.
HAVING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH THE SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE?
Tech is 0-1-1 after playing two Southland Conference schools to open its season. The Bulldogs played to a 2-2 tie against Nicholls with one of the goals coming from Reagan Roberts. On Sunday, the Bulldogs fell, 5-1, to Southeastern Louisiana as Madison Pensom scored the lone goal for Tech.
BULLDOGS' KEY RETURNERS
Among the returners for the Bulldogs are Peyton Wiseman and Abby Hanton. The two sophomores were among three players to have multiple goals last season. As a freshman, Wiseman led the Bulldogs with six points (two goals and two assists).

LU next heads to Houston to take on Rice Sunday at Holloway Field. Kickoff is scheduled for noon and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
