HOUSTON, Texas — Houston Christian used two grand slams to defeat Lamar University 9-5 on Sunday afternoon in the regular-season finale at Husky Field.
Since Southeastern Louisiana canceled its doubleheader against Nicholls, LU secured the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Stephen F. Austin at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the opening round of the Southland Conference tournament.

Cade Pregeant put the Cardinals on the board with a two-run home run to left in the top of the third inning.
HCU answered in the bottom of the third as Jack Walker hit a go-ahead grand slam to right field.
The Huskies extended their lead to seven with five runs on one hit in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by Luke Bard's grand slam to left.
Pregeant answered with a three-run homer to left in the top of the seventh to cut the deficit to four.

- Pregeant becomes the second Cardinal hitter to hit two home runs in a game this season, joining Beau Durbin who did it during Game 2 against A&M-Corpus Christi.

- Reese Beheler finished 1 for 3 with a single and a walk.
- Durbin went 1 for 1 with a double to extend his hitting streak to five games.
