Theo Kummer brought in a run with a fielder's choice to short, and Brayden Evans followed with a double down the left field line.

Rodriguez then ripped a two‑RBI double down the left field line to extend the lead to 4-0.

Valentine added the third straight hit of the inning with a single to center, setting up runners at the corners, and Easton Culp capped the rally with a sacrifice fly to right.

The Cardinals opened the ninth with three consecutive singles from Durbin, Lane Sparks and Evans.
