BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University sets its sights on a showdown with Stephen F. Austin Sunday at SFA Soccer Field in Nacogdoches. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.

PREVIOUSLY
The Cardinals (5-2-4, 2-1-1 SLC) overcame an early one-goal deficit to earn a 2-1 victory over East Texas A&M last Friday. Emma Oubrik scored one goal and assisted on Marissa Gross' game-winner in the 89th minute. Keely Thomas tied a season high with five saves, including four in the second half.

MRS. CLUTCH
Marissa Gross has already scored four game-winning goals this season, becoming the first Cardinal to do so since Cariel Ellis in 2023. One more game winner would tie Gross for eighth place on LU's all-time list alongside Kristin Bos (2011-14), M.J. Eckert (2014-17), Christine Kitaru (2020-22) and Isela Ramirez (2021-24).

NATHAN KOGUT WIN UPDATE
Head coach Nathan Kogut needs three more wins to record 50 victories in his coaching career. This would make him the second coach in program history to achieve this milestone, along with Steve Holman (2016-21), who remains the program's all-time leader with 66 wins.

KAMDYN ON ASSIST WATCH
In two seasons with LU, senior Kamdyn Jalayer has totaled 10 assists, including three this season. She needs one more assist to be tied for 10th all-time in program history along with Jannet Hernandez (2012-15) and Lisa Topping (2009-12).

ALL-TIME VS. STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
LU is 5-17-1 all-time against the Ladyjacks. The two teams met twice last season at the LU Soccer Complex. In the regular-season meeting, the Cardinals battled to a 1-1 draw behind six saves from goalkeeper Eloise Bywater. SFA won the second matchup, 2-0, in the Southland Conference Tournament semifinals.

ABOUT THE LADYJACKS
The Ladyjacks (4-10, 1-4 SLC) recently fell, 2-1, against Nicholls Thursday evening. Sawyer Kohutek converted a penalty kick with six minutes left, but the Ladyjacks couldn't get the equalizer. SFA's top scorer is Alyce Chappelle, with seven goals, the second-most in the conference.
