Woodham named Southland Golfer of the Week

| By:
FRISCO, Texas — Nathan Woodham was named Southland Conference Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday.

Woodham earned the honor after tying for first at the Argent Financial Classic with a 10-under-par 206 (69-68-69), recording the first tournament title of his collegiate career.

He became the first Cardinal to win or share a tournament title since David Schneider Jerez tied for medalist honors at the Graeme McDowell Invitational in September 2023.

Woodham finished the tournament with 16 birdies, 29 pars and an eagle. He carded five birdies on the front nine of the second round and added seven birdies in the final round.

Through nine rounds this season, Woodham leads Lamar with a 70.5 scoring average and a team-best six rounds at par or better.

His 54-hole total of 206 shattered his previous career low of 208, set at the Golden Nugget Invitational in March 2026.

The first-place finish was the best of Woodham's career at Lamar, surpassing a fourth place showing at the Los Vaqueros Invitational in February 2024.

With the award shifting to a weekly format this fall, Woodham became Lamar's first recipient under the new structure.

The honor was previously awarded monthly, with Schneider earning Golfer of the Month honors in October 2023 as the last Cardinal recognized during the fall season.
