Big Red Greeting Texas A&M-San Antonio Jaguars Thursday

BEAUMONT, Texas - Game three of Lamar's current four-match home stretch has the Cardinals taking on Texas A&M-San Antonio Thursday in the final non-conference game of the 2025. The contest is set to kick off at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Cardinals' two-match winning streak ended Sunday as it fell 2-0 to Rice at the LU Soccer Complex. Freshman goalkeeper Eloise Bywater recorded four saves while facing 14 shots. 

Putting In The Minutes
Caragan Childs has been LU's least substituted player. Playing in a team-high 604 minutes, Childs has played the full 90 in all but two contests, including last Sunday against Rice. The Sumrall, Miss., native has anchored the Cardinals to an SLC third-lowest 1.43 goals allowed. In the past two seasons with her on the pitch, the Cardinals have had a top-five defense, including a 0.67 GAA. 

All-Time vs. Texas A&M-San Antonio
This will be the first all-time meeting between Lamar and the Jaguars. 

About The Jaguars
The Jaguars are 0-3-1 after falling 3-0 to the Southwest Assemblies of God Sunday. This will mark the third meeting against an SLC school for the Jaguars this season. Already, they have played two games against UT Rio Grande Valley and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, losing by scores of 10-0 and 6-0, respectively.

Southland Conference play opens Thursday, Sept. 18th, as LU goes against 2024 SLC tournament runner-up East Texas A&M. The match will kick off at 7 p.m., and will be streamed on ESPN+.
