Amy Hooks is adding pitcher Ava Prejean (Lafayette, La.), a junior transfer from Jones College, to the Cardinals' squad for the upcoming season. Prejean becomes the seventh newcomer to join the program.
In two seasons with the Bobcats, Prejean posted an ERA of 4.53, going 12-3 in the circle, including nine complete games. She struck out 79 batters while holding opponents to a .192 batting average.
"Ava is going to help us reload in the circle," said Hooks. "She hides the ball really well and will be a good complement to the rest of the staff."
