BEAUMONT, Texas – With the 2024-25 academic year in the books, Lamar is making preparations for next year releasing its start times for the 2025 football season. The month of September will see 6 p.m. kick offs at Provost Umphrey Stadium, with kick times moving to 3 p.m. beginning Saturday Oct. 4
th against Nicholls.
The 2025 season will mark the third under head coach Pete Rossomando who has changed the view of LU football in just two short seasons. After recording NCAA FCS football's fourth-largest single-season turnarounds in his first year, Rossomando's charges went out and won more games last season recording the school's first back-to-back winning record since 1966 and 1967.
The Cardinals kick off the 2025 campaign Saturday, Aug. 30
th at North Texas and will open the home slate the following week against South Dakota. In addition to the Coyotes, 2025 will also see former Southland Conference foe – Central Arkansas – come to town (Sept. 27
th) along with first-year program UT Rio Grande Valley (Oct. 18
th). The Cardinals will also play host to Nicholls (Oct. 4
th), Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 8) and close out the regular season with the annual battle of the border against McNeese (Nov. 22).
