Sevonne Rhea Receives Camp Invite with Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Lamar University receiver Sevonne Rhea has received a mini-camp invite with the NFL's Carolina Panthers announced team officials Saturday evening. Rhea becomes the second Cardinal in 2025 to receive an invite joining running back Khalan Griffin (Las Vegas Raiders).
 
Rhea reports to camp on May 9th.  
 
"I give all glory to Jehovah for this opportunity. I'm very blessed," said Rhea. "I'm just happy for how it all came together. I'm looking forward to getting to camp and giving everything I have and show what I can do. I want to leave my mark."
 
A three-year letterwinner, Rhea transferred to Lamar from Texas State prior to the 2022 season and became one of the league's top big-play threats. During his first season with the Red and White he played in and started 10 games hauling in 24 passes for a team-high 448 yards and a touchdown. A two-way threat, Rhea was also one of the Southland's top return specialists.
 
During his career, played in 29 games making 27 starts. He hauled in 70 passes for 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a junior, he returned from injury midway through the season and in his first game back was named SLC Offensive Player of the Week after hauling in six passes for 133 yards (22.2 ypc) and two touchdowns.
