BEAUMONT, Texas —
Riely Hunsaker threw a solid game, going seven innings with 10 strikeouts, however Lamar University dropped Game 1 to Stephen F. Austin, 2-0, on Friday night at Vincent-Beck Stadium.
Hunsaker retired his first eight batters in order.
The Cardinals left a runner stranded in the first and second innings as
Brayden Evans hit a single and
Reese Beheler hit a one-out double to left center in the respective innings.
Stephen F. Austin got a leadoff single in the top of the fourth that was followed up by an RBI triple to right center to end the shutout.
The second run of the inning was brought in on a sacrifice fly to right.

- Beheler finished 2 for 3 with a single and a double.
- Evans went 1 for 4 with a single.
- Heladio Moreno had a single up the middle in the eighth to go 1 for 4.
