Pugh Named to STATS Perform FCS All-America Team

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Lamar University senior safety Kristian Pugh has been named to the 2025 STATS Perform FCS All-America team announced publication officials Wednesday morning. A third-team selection, it is the first All-America honor for the Beaumont native who posted a career year in 2025.

A key factor in getting Lamar University to the playoffs for the second time in program history, Pugh led the team with 89 total tackles, including 41unassisted stops. Among his 89 tackles, 6.5 were for losses. He also tied for the league lead with four interceptions and ranked among the league leaders with five pass breakups this past season.

One of his interceptions came in the upset of No. 4 South Dakota. He finished the game against the Coyotes with five tackles and the pick which led to him being named SLC Defensive Player of the Week.

A two-time All-Southland Conference selection and a 2025 first-team All-SLC honoree, Pugh will leave Lamar having played in 47 games making 41 career starts. During that time, he recorded 253 total tackles (133 solo stops), was credited with 14.5 tackles for losses, intercepted seven passes and had 18 pass deflections.

Pugh's honor marks the fourth Lamar All-American under head coach Pete Rossomando, and the second this season (LaDamion McDowell received Freshman All-America honors on Dec. 9). It is also the first non-Freshman All-America selection for the Red and White since Garrett Bowery (offensive line) and Davon Jernigan (defensive back) in 2018.
