Maja Malinowska and
Taisha Rhone were named to the All-Conference volleyball team, the Southland Conference office announced Wednesday morning.
Malinowska earned first team honors while Rhone was named second team.
The last time Lamar University had two players named to the all-conference team was in 2014.
This is the second straight season Malinowska is recognized as an all-conference player. She was named second team all-conference in 2024.
Malinowska is the Southland's leader in kills (415) and points (479). She also ranks second in points per set (4.61) and kills per set (3.99), eighth in digs (356) and 10th in service aces (36).
She also posted 20 assists, 39 total blocks, 22 block assists and 17 solo blocks.
Nationally, she ranks 23rd in Division I in points.
Malinowska has recorded 18 double doubles while she's tallied 10 or more kills in 23 matches. Additionally, she has posted five matches with 20 or more kills.
She set or tied five single game career high marks this season.
Malinowska posted an impressive .571 attack percentage in a four-set match against Nicholls on Oct. 11 when she landed 27 kills in 42 attempts.
In addition, she also set a single game career high mark with 80 attacks taken against Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 6 and digs when she tallied 24 against Incarnate Word on Oct. 16.
Malinowska was named a Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.
Rhone, the lone senior on the team, ranked fifth in the Southland in kills (289) and points (348.5). She is also seventh in points per set (3.67) and eighth in kills per set (3.04).
Ranking second on the team in kills, Rhone posted 14 matches with 10 or more kills while she had two double doubles.
Rhone posted six single game career high marks this season in attacks, service aces, digs, total blocks, solo blocks and block assists.
Highlighting her new single game career high marks included serving up seven aces in a match against Nicholls on Nov. 1 while against Southeastern Louisiana she had 20 digs.
Rhone also posted a single game career high of seven total blocks against East Texas A&M on Oct. 25.
She also ranked second on the team in service aces (22), total blocks (60) and block assists (45).
