FRISCO, Texas —
Maja Malinowska was named Southland Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Malinowska tallied 50 kills, 28 digs, two block assists, two assists and one service ace this past week to earn Offensive Player of the Week.
She averaged 6.25 kills per set while she averaged 3.5 digs per set.
In the five-set win over Southeastern Louisiana, Malinowska had 30 kills, 16 digs, two block assists and one service ace.
Malinowska recorded the fourth most kills in a five-set match in program history. In addition, she was three kills shy of tying her career high set back on Sept. 20, 2024 against Sam Houston State.
She recorded her 17th double-double of the season when she finished with 20 kills and 12 digs against New Orleans.
Malinowska leads the conference with 390 kills and 449 points. She has been honored four times as an offensive player of the week during her career.
This the fourth time this season that a Cardinal player has been recognized as a conference player of the week.
Gabby Baker (Defensive Player of the Week / Sept. 22) and
Alexa Gonzalez (Setter of the Week / Oct. 20) are the other two players that have been honored.
