FRISCO, Texas – Lamar University men's basketball has two games that have been picked up by CBS Sports for the upcoming 2025-26 season announced Southland Conference officials Tuesday morning. Lamar's contest at McNeese and its home game against Nicholls will both be aired on CBS Sports. The announcement comes less than a week before the Southland's men's and women's basketball media day event.
 
The contest at McNeese was originally slated for Saturday, Jan. 3, but has been moved to Friday, Jan. 2^nd, and will tip off at 6 p.m. from the Townsley Law Arena. The contest will also serve as the first meeting between the Battle of the Border rivalry schools since the 2025 SLC Championship game.
 
The Cardinals' home matchup against Nicholls will take place Monday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. from the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center.
 
Big Red enters the 2025-26 season with a lot of buzz after coming off a 20-win campaign that saw Lamar earn the league's No. 2 overall seed and advance to the conference tournament championship game.
 
The Cardinals have improved every season under coach Brooks. LU enters the year with the opportunity to become just the third team in program history to improve in four consecutive seasons.
