BEAUMONT, Texas - Looking to build on its win from Sunday, the Lamar University women's soccer team hits the road again for a Thursday night matchup at 1:00 p.m., in Mobile, Ala. For the third season in a row, LU takes on South Alabama with the game scheduled to be played at The Cage.

PreviouslyÂ
The Cardinals earned a 2-1 victory over Sam Houston Sunday at the LU Soccer Complex.
Kamryn Harvey netted the first goal off an assist from
Cena Carlson in the 28th minute. Six minutes later,
Rafiatu Alhassan headed in the second goal with
Arely Alaniz getting credit for the assist. In goal,

Â
A Defensive Player of the Week Named Arely
Alaniz was tabbed as the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career. Last week, she posted a goal against Rice and an assist against SHSU. The Deer Park resident has appeared in six straight matches where she spent all 90 minutes on the field dating back to last season's NCAA first-round match against Texas.Â
Â
A Milestone Win
The win over Sam Houston marked the program's 150th victory. Thursday's match will take place on the 16th anniversary of LU's first-ever win, which ironically happened against the Jaguars by the final score of 2-1.Â
Â
History vs. South Alabama
This will mark the fifth-ever meeting between the two teams. The Cardinals are 1-2-1 against the Jaguars in their history. Last season, the Jaguars shut out the Cardinals 3-0 in Beaumont. The last time LU traveled to Mobile, both teams played to a scoreless draw on Sept. 8th, 2022.
