Men’s Golf in Houston for Bayou City Collegiate

BEAUMONT, Texas - The Lamar University men's golf team is making a short trip down I-10 to Houston for the Bayou City Collegiate hosted by Rice University. The Cardinals are appearing in this tournament for the first time in two seasons.
 
The Bayou City Collegiate will be played on the Westwood Country Club, a par-72, 7,184-yard golf course. It will start Monday with 36 holes and will end with the final 18 Tuesday.
 
The Cardinals will be one of 16 schools in the tournament along with Rice, fellow Southland Conference schools Houston Christian and UTRGV, Abilene Christian, Houston, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Samford, Sam Houston, Texas A&M, UL-Monroe, UT-Arlington, and Wichita State.
 
Head coach Jessie Mudd will line up his team with David Schneider Jerez, Matthew Bramford, Nathan Woodham, Fermin Martinez, and Rory Bennet. Luc Gavagnin will debut as a Cardinal while competing as an individual.

The Cardinals tee off at 8:30 a.m. Monday and will be playing alongside UTRGV and ULM.
