LU Soccer's Sunday Plan? Hosting Nicholls at Soccer Complex

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas - Fresh off of earning their first point in Southland Conference play, the Lamar University women's soccer team will host Nicholls at the LU Soccer Complex Sunday. The Cardinals will kick off with the Colonels at 4:00 p.m.

Previously
LU played to a scoreless draw against UT Rio Grande Valley Thursday despite firing 15 shots. The Cardinals were able to fend off a late flurry of shot attempts by the Vaqueros in the final moments to preserve the draw. Kamryn Harvey led the team with five shots while goalkeeper Maddie Rich tied a career high with seven saves.

History vs. Nicholls
All-time, LU is 14-2-1 against the Colonels in head-to-head meetings. Winners of seven straight contests and eight of the last nine against the team from Thibodeaux, La., the Cardinals will enter Sunday's match exactly one year after dominating the Colonels 5-1 in the previous meeting. That game had Big Red firing 23 shots while holding Nicholls to three.

Pecking Apart The Colonels' Orders
Over the last nine games, the Cardinals have outscored NICH 24-2. After the Colonels scored their lone goal in the 67th minute of the 2018 meeting, Big Red scored the next 19 goals in 561 minutes against Nicholls, or nearly 13 halves of play. The streak stopped in the 90th minute in 2023.
