Men’s Golf Eyeing All-American Intercollegiate

BEAUMONT, Texas - Back in action this coming Monday, Lamar University's men's golf team will travel to the Houston suburb of Humble for the All-American Intercollegiate. Hosting with tournament will be both the University of Houston and Rice University. 

The tournament is set to start on Monday with 36 holes and the last 18 will be played on Tuesday. The Golf Club of Houston will be the host golf course and there will be two golf courses. For the teams, it will be on a par-72, 7,425-yard course while the individuals will participate on a golf course that is 83 yards longer. 

There will be 20 teams in this event. Along with LU, UH, and Rice, the other schools in this tournament are Arkansas State, Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisiana, Memphis, Mississippi, Sam Houston, Southern Miss, Texas State, Texas Tech, UNLV, UT Rio Grande Valley, UTSA, and Yale.

Head coach Jessie Mudd will line up his team with Carl Hardin, Jacob Lindh, Nathan Woodham, David Schneider Jerez, and Guillermo Estivill. Also making the trip and competing as individuals are Rory Bennet and Truls Andersson. The two of them will be pairing up with Kansas, Southern Miss, UTSA and UTRGV.
