Cardinals Ranked in Mid-Major Top 25 Poll

| By:
BOSTON, Mass. - Lamar University's women's basketball team is in the midst of a 10-game win streak and remains on top of the Southland Conference standings. LU's 20-5 record overall has also garnered some national attention. For the first time since 2019, the Cardinals are nationally ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll.

Released on Wednesday, the Cardinals make their debut in the top 25 after receiving votes last week. Occupying the 25th spot, LU received 60 points from the voting panel and also is the only Texas team to be in the top 25. Fellow SLC foe Southeastern Louisiana was receiving votes in this poll.

The Cardinals currently sit in first place with a 14-1 conference record and posted a second-straight 20-win season for the first time since the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. Big Red will look to extend its win streak this Thursday night as they travel to A&M-Commerce to meet up with the Lions for a 6:30 p.m tipoff.
