BEAUMONT, Texas - Looking to climb up in the Southland Conference standings, the Lamar University women's soccer team will head out to Hammond, La., Friday for the third-straight season to meet with Southeastern Louisiana. The Cardinals and the Lions will kick off at 7:00 p.m. at Strawberry Stadium.

The Cardinals scored four goals against Nicholls Sunday to earn their first SLC win.
Isela Ramirez posted two goals in the victory while
Anneliese Switzer and
Ronke Abudu netted the other two.
Maddie Rich collected five saves in goal for LU.

Isela Ramirez's two-goal game vs. Nicholls was not only the first two goals she scored this season but was also her second career multi-goal game. Ramirez last scored two goals on Sep. 5th, 2021, against Alcorn in a 9-0 win.
Richie Rich
Rich was tabbed as the SLC Goalkeeper of the Week after putting up two shutouts and recording 12 saves on 24 shots faced. This was her first career weekly honor and the second for the Cardinals this season (
Arely Alaniz - 9/3/24). Rich is currently fourth in goals against average (1.03) and second in saves percentage (.826).
All-Time vs. SLU
This will be the 20th meeting all time between the Cardinals and Lions. LU possesses an 11-6-2 record all-time against SLU. In their last meeting with the Lions, the Cardinals came out 4-1 winners in Beaumont with Ramirez scoring a goal and assisting on another along with
Trinity Clark. The last two times LU traveled to Hammond have seen it come away winners by the score of 1-0.

The Lions are 3-5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. SLU recently suffered its first conference loss of the season 2-0 against Texas A&M-Commerce. SLU is averaging a goal per game. Hannah McCord leads with three goals while Kelsey Fuller has two. Goalkeeper Kendall Curran has a GAA of 1.33, placing her seventh in the conference with a saves percentage of .778, which has her sixth.
