BEAUMONT, Texas - Having a win, loss, and a draw result through three games, Lamar University's soccer team now faces their toughest test to date as they welcome in the undefeated South Alabama Jaguars. After facing them last season in Mobile, the rematch will take place at the LU Soccer Complex.

The Cardinals couldn't buy a goal against Grambling University despite outshooting the Tigers 8-5. LU's defense would make sure the Tigers didn't score as they would play to a scoreless draw. Cariel Ellis took a team-high four shots while Arely Alaniz and Alana Clark each had three shots.
History vs. South Alabama
In three meetings, LU is 1-1-1 all-time against the Jaguars. The Jaguars won the first meeting in 2007 only for LU to return the favor in 2008. Last season, the two teams battled to a 0-0 draw. Nicole Panis faced 11 shots and recorded five saves in goal.

South Alabama enters this game 4-0 following a 3-1 win over Kennesaw State. Averaging 4.75 goals per game, six of their players have multiple goals with Gabby Hollar leading with four and Jasmine Greene with three. The goalkeeping tandem of Allison Luckhardt and Jaidyns Gutierrez Camposare combinging for a 0.25 goals against average with one goal allowed.
