BEAUMONT, Texas - With Christmas break looming and entering their final non-conference game of the season, Lamar University's women's basketball team will look to get a winning record heading into conference play. On Wednesday night, they will be hosting NAIA Texas A&M-Texarkana at 7:00 p.m at the Montagne Center.

Akasha Davis recorded 18 points in the game to lead the Cardinals to a 65-50 win over the Ragin Cajuns. This would included a 13-point third quarter, which started when she ignited a 9-2 run for LU. She made 70% from the field and also grabbed six rebounds.
High 60's
The Cardinals had two quarters in which they shot over 60.0% from the field. In the second quarter, they made 6-of-10 from the field for 60% and this included four threes. In the third quarter, LU made 66.67% from the field.Â
It Was 11 Three's For LU, Not 11 Pipers Piping
The Cardinals made a season-high 11 threes in the win over Louisiana. Seven of those came in the first half while Dean finished with a team-high dive threes for the night.
Portia Adams added three treys while
Malay McQueen made two.
NJ Weems hit her only three-point attempt of the contest.
History Against The Eagles
This will mark the first meeting all-time between the two teams.

The Eagles are currently 10-1 overall following a 68-59 win over LSU-Alexandria. They average 79.6 ppg on just 45.1% shooting from the field and have three players averaging double-figures in Lovietta Walker (13.6 ppg), Ashlei Lopez (11.8 ppg), and Reneya Hopkins (10.0 ppg).
