BEAUMONT, Texas - Evening up their record at 1-1 with a win last Friday night, Lamar University's women's basketball will take a quick midweek trip to Prairie View for a battle with the Panthers of Prairie View A&M. The tip-off for the game will start at 7:00 p.m.

LU bounced back from the tough loss to Baylor by beating Jarvis Christian College 78-55 on Friday at the Montagne Center. After trailing 30-29 at halftime, the Cardinals responded with a 49-25 second half performance. The big difference was in the fourth quarter when LU scored 23 points while holding the Bulldogs to just seven.
Dean Adams
Sabria Dean and
Portia Adams combined for 45 points between them. Dean tallied 25 points including 13 in the third quarter. She also made 11 free throws, dished out five assists, and recorded six steals. Adams posted 20 in the game and would also record five assists.
History With The Panthers
LU is 19-2 all-time against the Panthers. Last season, the Cardinals won 66-46 at the Montagne Center.
Akasha Davis scored 18 points to lead the way in the win. LU has won four of the last five games against PVU. The Panthers' last win against the Cardinals was on Dec. 5, 2015 when they won 80-72.
Scouting The Panthers
The Panthers average 84.7 points per game, which leads the Southwestern Athletic Conference. This includes the first two games where they scored 95 points or higher Diana Rosenthal is the top scorer with 20.3 ppg having started the season with 22 and 21 point games respectively. PVU allows 66.7 ppg, which after three games is the third fewest allowed in the conference.

The Cardinals will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to partake in the Southern Mississippi Thanksgiving Tournament. First up will be Mississippi Valley State at 5:00 p.m on Friday, Nov. 25th.
