Cardinals Travel North to Face TCU

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University returns to action Friday when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas Friday to take on TCU. The game, which is slated to tip off at 7 p.m., will pit two teams against each other that are coming from almost the exact same spot. Bot schools survived scares in their hope openers Monday.

The Cardinals are coming off a two-point win over St. Thomas (TX), while TCU defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 73-72, at Schollmaier Arena.

For the Cardinals, they come into the season looking to improve upon a tough 2021-22 campaign, while TCU is looking for more of the same magic that saw them win 21 games last season and advance to the second round of the NCAA Championships.

Friday's contest will be just the 13th all-time meeting in a series that dates back to the 1970-71 season. The Horned Frogs lead the all-time series, 10-2 (.833), which includes an 0-8 mark in Fort Worth. LU has dropped four consecutive in the series and looking for its first win since the 1986-87 season.

The game is slated for a 7 p.m. tip off from Schollmaier Arena. There will be no radio broadcast of the game, but it will be streamed live on ESPN+ via the Big 12 Now network.
