NEW ORLEANS, La. – Lamar University was 2-0 against New Orleans entering Saturday afternoon's match, but all that changed when the Privateers recorded a 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-16) victory over the Red and White in New Orleans.
The loss drops LU to 6-12 (.333) on the season and 0-7 in Southland Conference play and extends the Cardinals' skid to eight matches.
The Cardinals struggled on the offensive end of the floor recording just 31 kills on 117 attempts with 26 errors (.043). Big Red finished the day with just one set (first) with a positive attack percentage. On the other side of the court, the Privateers recorded one of their best performances of the season. UNO was 38-10-85 (.329) for the day.
The Cardinals were led by nine kills from
Wiktoria Warpechowska while
Amber Johnson added seven kills and seven digs.
The Cardinals will have the opportunity to exact revenge on UNO Thursday when the Privateers come to Beaumont for a 6 p.m. match. The match will take place from McDonald Gym.
