Box Score HOUSTON, Tx – The Lamar University Cardinals took to the road as they traveled West to Houston, Texas for a matchup with the University of Houston Cougars at the Carl Lewis Athletic Complex.
The Cards were in for a tough battle with the Cougars, as UH quickly opened up the scoring with a goal within 37 seconds of open play. Big Red, held on strong and kept the score line at 1-0 for the remainder of the half.

Nicole Panis faced a busy evening under the wrath of the Houston Cougars attack, as she faced a total of 8 shots on goal and made 5 saves in tonight's game.
Into the second half, Houston took their home advantage and added to their goal tally, with another goal coming in the 48
th minute.
Houston again added another goal to their tally, with a goal late into the game in the 87
th minute, shutting the game out 3-0.
"We had some really good moments tonight and are definitely showing improvement in certain areas. But at the end of the day it just wasn't enough. We have to move forward from this and get ready for the next one," said LU Soccer Head Coach
Steve Holeman.
Next up for LU is a return to Beaumont for a match with Alcorn State at the LU Soccer Complex, with a kickoff scheduled for 1 P.M. Sunday afternoon.
