SOCCER CENTRAL: at Sam Houston

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's soccer program will look to bounce back on Saturday, April 3rd when they travel to Huntsville, Texas to take on Sam Houston.
 
Leading the Cardinals is redshirt senior Esther Okoronkwo who leads the Cardinals with 24 total points on nine goals and six assists. Junior Christine Kitaru backs the Big Red offense with four goals and two assists. Sophomore Nicole Panis leads the Big Red in goal as she has tallied 63 saves on the year and owns a 0.79 goals against average.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Cardinals dropped just their second contest of the season in a 2-1 loss at Stephen F. Austin. Kitaru tallied the lone LU goal in the 24th minute of the contest while Panis recorded three saves in 21 shots faced.   

SERIES HISTORY: This will mark the 15th overall meeting between the programs with the Bearkats holding the series advantage 8-5-1 over the Cards. Lamar blanked Sam Houston in the last outing, 5-0, at the LU Soccer Complex.

SCOUTING THE BEARKATS: The Bearkats (4-4-1, 4-4-1 Southland) are led on offense by Brooke Jones and Landri Townsend who both have seven points on the season. In the cage for Sam Houston is Abby DeLozier who owns a 1.06 goals allowed average and has stopped 42 shots on the year.

UP NEXT: The Cardinals will close out the regular season on the road at McNeese on Friday, April 9th with a 5:00 p.m. kick off from Cowgirl Field.
