BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's basketball program will make the trek to San Antonio, Texas to square off against the UIW Cardinals for the second time within a week on Monday, March 1
st with a 6:30 p.m. tip off.
The Cardinals are led by redshirt junior
Micaela Wilson who tallies 12.4 points a game and brings in 6.3 rebounds a game to lead the Cards on the defensive end. Freshman
Bebe Galloway currently leads the conference in field goal percentage as she makes 60 percent of her shots from the field.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Lamar University women's basketball program fell to the Southland Conference Regular Season Champions, Stephen F. Austin, on Saturday afternoon in the Montagne Center by a score of 92-64.
- The high-pressure defense of SFA came right out of the gates and locked down the Big Red for most of the game. The Ladyjacks were led by Stephanie Visscher who tallied 20 points, eight assists and three steals on the afternoon.
- The Cardinals three players tally double-figures with junior Micaela Wilson and freshman Bebe Galloway totaled 18 points apiece, while senior Jadyn Pimentel tallied 16 points and neared a double-double with seven assists. Lamar shot 42 percent from the field while SFA sank 57 percent of their shots.
SERIES HISTORY
- This marks the 14th meeting between the programs with the Cardinals holding a 11-2 series advantage.
- The last time out, Lamar captured the first meeting, 59-55, in the Montagne Center on Wednesday, February 24th.
