COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Lamar University softball program defeated Binghamton, 4-1, on the final day of play at the Texas A&M Invitational at Davis Diamond.
The Bearcats got on the board first in the first inning, but the Cardinals did not find themselves down for long. Freshman
Nicolette Ramirez led Lamar offensively, going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI in the win. Redshirt sophomore
Victoria Garivey showed her power at the plate picking up a double and a single in the 4-1 win over Binghamton.
Senior
Jade Lewis picked up two RBIs while going 1-for-2 at the plate this morning. Sophomore
Aaliyah Ruiz picked up her third win of the year to move to 3-1 overall. She tossed 3.0 innings and gave up just one run on two hits. Junior
Shelby Mixon got some time in the circle today as she tossed 4.0 innings with one strikeout.
The Cardinals improve to 4-6 overall and will look to have a week to prepare for the Cardinal Classic at the LU Softball Complex.
