MOBILE, Ala. – The Lamar University men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss at South Alabama Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Cardinals to 0-4 on the season.
The Cardinals were unable to get things going during the doubles matchups. They fell on courts 1 and 2 to drop the point. The Cards forced a tiebreaker at No. 3, but the match was stopped after the point was awarded on the other two courts.
Headed into the singles matches, LU struggled to get anything going. The Cardinals lost the first three matchups which gave the Jaguars the 4-0 win.

Joshua Sundaram fought hard in his match with Jordan Coutinho. Sundaram ended up winning the first set 6-4. Sundaram took the lead in the second set 4-3, but due to other matches finishing, they ended the set unfinished.

Nicolas Mayr fell just short in the first set of his matchup with South Alabama's Louis Delcour losing 7-5. Mayr jumped out to an early lead in the second set, but at that point the match had already been called.
The Red and White travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. Sunday to take on Southern Mississippi. The match against the Golden Eagles will take place at 11 a.m.
