SAN ANTONIO - A big first inning for Texas - San Antonio (14-19) put the game out of reach for Lamar University (10-23) on Tuesday at Roadrunner Field. The Cardinals fell 23-2 against the Roadrunners.
Avery George led off with a single and came home on a
Cole Coker single in the first to give Lamar a 1-0 lead, but the Roadrunners responded with 13 runs in the bottom of the inning. UTSA scored another five in the second, one in the fourth, four in the fifth, and two in the sixth. Lamar's only other run came in the top of the fifth on a
Logan Berlof solo home run.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday with the first of three Southland Conference games at home against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
