BEAUMONT, Texas – A week after a strong showing at Louisiana Tech, the Lamar University men's golf team travels to Little Rock, Ark., to compete in the Little Rock Invitational. The 17-team, two-day tournament will take place on the par-72, 7,236-yard Chenal Country Club course. The Little Rock Invitational is a 54-hole tournament that is slated to play 36 holes Monday followed by the final round of 18 Tuesday. The tournament will begin at 8:15 a.m. both days with a shotgun start.
The 17-team tournament field consists of several Southland Conference schools. The field includes tournament-host UALR, Abilene Christian, Arizona, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Baptist, Illinois State, LU, Miami, Missouri State, Seattle, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, UL Monroe, UNLV and UT-Arlington.
The trip to Arkansas will be the Cardinals last time to face tournament competition before shutting it down for the holidays. The Cardinals will look to build on a strong fall campaign when they open tournament play Monday. Those results included a fourth-place finish last time out at Choudrant, La.
The Cardinals will be paired up with Seattle and UT Arlington. Big Red is slated to start on the 7
th – 9
th tee box.
The Cardinals will be back in action Feb. 16-18, when they travel down I-10 to Houston, Texas to compete in the All-American Intercollegiate. The tournament is scheduled for a round of 18 holes each day.
