BEAUMONT, Texas – Less than a month after accepting the position, Lamar University defensive line coach John Blake has resigned to take a similar position with the NFL's Buffalo Bills announced the organization via twitter.
A veteran with more than 20 years of experience, Blake made stops at North Carolina, Nebraska, Mississippi State and Tulsa prior to his short stay in the Golden Triangle. Blake also spent three years as the head coach at the University of Oklahoma, and was an assistant for the Dallas Cowboys during their runs to the 1994 and 1996 Super Bowls.
During his career, Blake has coached NFL Pro Bowlers Leon Lett, Charles Haley, Russell Maryland and Tony Tolbert, as well as 15 players from the collegiate ranks who went on to be drafted.
