BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University football team reported back to campus for the start of summer classes last week, but Tuesday the players took a brief moment to look ahead to the 2015 season opener against Bacone College. The coaching staff held a team meeting Tuesday afternoon to unveil new uniforms.
"Obviously, you want to look good when you take the field, and I like these uniforms," said head coach
Ray Woodard. "I believe by the response from the team lets you know the guys really like them too. I'm a fan of the traditional look when it comes to collegiate uniforms and I believe these uniforms fit that style."

Kade Harrington walked into the meeting wearing the new look uniforms. The new look gives the Cardinals eight different versions to choose come game day. The Cards can go with all red or red jerseys on white pants for home games and all white or white jersey on red pants for away contests. The uniforms also include the LU's two helmets – its traditional white helmet and the alternate black helmet which was unveiled during the 2014 season.
The Cardinals will kick off the season Saturday, Sept. 5, at home against Bacone College. The game is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. from Provost Umphrey Stadium. Tickets can be purchased through the LU Ticket Office at (409) 880-1715.
