LAFAYETTE, La. - Lamar University looked as though it would force a fifth set Tuesday night at Earl K. Long Gym, but long-time rival Louisiana-Lafayette was able to stem the tide and pull out a 3-1 volleyball victory over the Lady Cardinals.
Lamar has now lost five straight matches, standing at 1-6 going into Thursday's 7 p.m. home match with Northern Illinois. The Lady Cardinals will then host Baylor, Mississippi State and UTEP this weekend in the MCM Elegante' Invitational at McDonald Gym.
