BEAUMONT, Texas - Kristin Bos scored 4:12 into the second overtime period to lift the Lamar University women's soccer team to a 2-1 Southland Conference victory over Sam Houston State on Friday evening.
Bos scored on an assist from Lisa Hance, who had the other goal for the Lady Cardinals (7-5-1 overall, 4-0-0 conference), who set a school record for conference wins in a season.
Sam Houston State (5-9-1, 1-3-0) broke a scoreless tie 18:45 into the second half when Kirby Zak intercepted a clearing attempt by Lamar goalkeeper Jennifer Gibbs and rifled a shot into the net. That ended Gibbs' scoreless streak at a school record 333 minutes, 45 seconds.
The Lady Cardinals tied the game exactly 11 minutes later when Hance scored from in front off of a corner kick by Grace Bowman.
