BEAUMONT, Texas - Jenna Plumley notched her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 17 points and 13 assists to lead the Lamar University women's basketball team to an 85-71 victory over visiting Texas State in a Southland Conference game at the Montagne Center on Saturday.
Plumley's assist total was one of her career high and two off the Lamar school record. The junior guard improved her conference best assist-to-turnover ratio by committing just one turnover on the afternoon. Darika Hill added 23 points, while Ang Green chipped in with 15 points off the bench for the Lady Cardinals (19-5 overall, 9-1 conference).
"Jenna just had a fantastic game today," Lamar coach Larry Tidwell said. "She just sees the court so well."
Lamar, which improved to 10-0 in the Montagne Center this season, held a 43-28 lead at halftime and led by as many as 24 points late in the second half.
Aimee Hilburn led Texas State (5-17, 1-10) with 15 points. Kelsey Krupa had 14 points for the Bobcats, Victoria Davis had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Diamond Ford finished with 10 points.
Lamar returns to action at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sam Houston State before hosting Northwestern State at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.
