ARLINGTON, Texas - Roge'r Guignard scored 20 points off the bench and Texas-Arlington made 11 3-pointers in outlasting Lamar 94-83 at Texas Hall on Wednesday.
Guignard made five treys for UTA (8-7, 1-1 SLC) who tied their season-high. UTA led 48-42 at the half but used a 14-6 run early in the second half to stretch its lead to 16 with 9:45 remaining.
Lamar (10-5, 1-1 SLC) got the deficit to 12 two minutes later but UTA got a 25-foot trey from Guignard and a loose ball jumper by Brandon Long on subsequent possessions to make the score 73-56 with 7:56 on the clock.
Brandon McThay scored 20 points in a season-high 40 minutes. Kenny Dawkins and Jay Brown each scored 18 for the Cardinals.
Lamar will continue its road trip on Saturday with a late afternoon contest at arch-rival McNeese State. Tip-off for the game at Burton Coliseum is set for 3 p.m.
