NATCHITOCHES, La. -- Northwestern State's Kayce Schultz tied a school record with four goals as the Demons defeated Lamar, 6-0, at the Demon Soccer Field Sunday.
NSU (7-5-1, 2-1-0 Southland) scored four times in an 11-minute span in the first half, with Shultz accounting for three of the goals.
Her goals came at 9:15, 16:08 and 20:26, with the fourth in the second half at 52:28. Sarah Sadler scored the second goal of the game in the 11th minute. Chelsey Gibbs had the fifth goal of the game at the 34:10 mark of the first half.
Lamar (2-8-1, 0-3-1 Southland) finished with four shots - three in the second half - and one on goal.
Jennifer Gibbs made one save and allowed the first four goals before being replaced by Jessica Winters, who stopped two shots and allowed two goals in 64 minutes.
Lamar will return home to face arch rival McNeese State at Cardinal Stadium on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
