TULSA, Okla. - The Lamar Lady Cardinals opened the 2005 season Friday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Lamar fell behind 11-2 early in game one, and was never able to rebound from the deficit, dropping the opener 30-15.
Game two saw the Lady Cardinals give Tulsa all they could handle, fighitng off game point five times before the Hurricane escaped with a 36-34 win.
In game three, Tulsa pulled away from Lamar late in the game for a 30-21 win.
Buchi Okoh led the way for the Lady Cardinals, knocking down 17 kills with a .333 hitting percentage, while Alyssa Parks and Erica Brown collected 16 and 13 digs respectively.
