        SAN MARCOS, Texas - After battling to a 1-1 tie, the Lamar University        volleyball team could not pull out another win in a closely contested loss to Texas State        University Friday night in San Marcos.
        In the first two games, each team won relatively easily, with Texas State posting a        30-23 win in game one, and Lamar grabbing a 30-22 win in game two, the Bobcats held off the        Lady Cardinals in the final two games of the match. Texas State posted the winning score of        30-28 in games three and four, handing Lamar their third consecutive loss.
        Buchi        Okoh led the way for Lamar, with a match-high 15 kills and a .520 hitting percentage,        while Nikki        Perry posted 11 kills. Setter Ashley        Todd passed out 42 assists and the LU defense was led by Alyssa        Parks who collected 17 digs.
        The Lady Cardinals will be in action again Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. when they take        on the University of Texas-San Antonio in San Antonio.
