Anderson Steps Down

BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University assistant men's basketball coach Anthony Anderson has resigned to pursue other career opportunities announced head coach Tic Price. Anderson was hired shortly after Price was named LU's full-time head coach prior to the 2014-15 season.

"We certainly will miss Coach Anderson," said Price. "But we want to thank him for his effort and loyalty to the basketball program. We wish him and his family well in all his future endeavors."

Anderson was a part of the staff that helped LU record one of the nation's top single-season turnarounds in 2014-15. Coming off a two-year stretch that saw the Cardinals win a total of seven games in two seasons, Big Red won 15 games to record an 11-game improvement that year. LU more than doubled its overall and conference win totals from the previous two seasons in 2014-15 jumping to the middle of the pack in the Southland Conference standings.
